When I am preparing for a new backpacking trip, the thing I enjoy the most is reading about other people's journeys on the same trail that I am about to embark on. Because of this, I have decided to add my own voice to the mix, so that others may benefit from my own experiences as much as I have benefitted from others.
Who am I? My name is Kristina and I am a 26 year old elementary school teacher. When I am not hiking, I am teaching 3rd graders, playing sports, or re-reading Harry Potter for the 20th time. This is my first year backpacking. In January 2016, I made it my goal to start a new hobby, and slowly started acquiring backpacking gear. In May 2016, I went on my first backpacking trip and was instantly hooked. A few months later, I now have 5 backpacking trips under my belt and am committed to hiking the John Muir Trail next summer.
I'll start with my most recent trip, and hopefully work my ways backwards to also cover some of my other trips. If not, at least I will be able to now record any future trips.
